10-20-25 THOUGHTS
The preaching of the gospel is the subject of our reading this morning. Paul first asks for prayers for himself to gain opportunity and then to effectively speak the word! He then turns the light on his praying group as they approach outsiders as teachers of the word. They are to “make the most of the opportunity”! It goes to us also! Our speech, first IS TO BE! Mark 16:15 “And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” It then is to be “with grace, as though seasoned with salt,”. Paul focuses our attention and response on “EACH PERSON!” We must live in the present, and do our best with each and every opportunity. We must prepare ourselves for each encounter.
Col 4:2-6 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; 3 praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; 4 that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak. 5 Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
Ps 107:2a Let the redeemed of the LORD say [so,]...
Our Prayer:
Father, help us to be effective servants teaching the good news of Jesus. May we learn the joy in this process. Help our souls to seek other souls to share eternity”s promise. Help us to “launch out into the deep” with this essential information spreading process. May we, as “the redeemed of the Lord”... Say so.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.
